You would need a special program to image the .iso file to the thumb drive. This is usually a simple program such as Balena Etcher which is very popular and available on multiple OS?es. You simply select the .iso image, and choose your thumb drive as the destination. This program has always worked well with me, and I never had problems with it. Ironically, there is a Windows version, so a Windows application is helping you escape from Windows.
