08: Use Linux

Now that you logged in for the first time, the first thing you would want to do is setup your wifi? credentials. Remember, your credentials during their trial period was loaded into memory, and that memory is flashed during a reboot. However, this should be the last time you would need to log into this particular network unless your network’s password changed.

While your Linux does not come with support, there are a number of help forums to help new users. You would also be able to research options of what to do by using the internet. Keep in mind, some things might have changed if you are using a different OS? version than the information you found online. With that said, things might not be perfectly located.

Almost all Linux OSes will have an application store. You can use this store to get authenticated applications, and will be designed to make your experience more Windows like. I would suggest that you do not install from unknown or untrusted sources. Since most people reading this tutorial will likely be using the internet, and office work, they likely have all of the applications and tools they will need already installed.

There will be a learning curve, but this will be expected no matter what OS you decided on. If you were to choose a Mac PC, then there would be a learning curve. The same will go with most Linux versions. Enjoy your new and likely free operating system for years to come.
